Luke 4:18 (a) The Spirit of the Lord is upon me; He hath sent me to heal the broken hearted. (broken heart)

When someone we love passes to the other side . . . it just hurts.  The pain is real.  The loss seems unbearable.  The future looks bleak.  Darkness seems to be all around.  No one wants to face the reality of the situation.

We all ask “WHY”?

I often hear, “How can this be?”  “Why did this happen?”  “It happened too fast.”  “I should have done this.”  “I should have said that”.  Or, even worse,” I shouldn’t have done this” or “I shouldn’t have said that”.  “My friends telling me we’ll see them again doesn’t help me today.”  “My heart is breaking.  Why can’t they understand that?”

Now is not the time to think about the things that could have been different – It’s time to be with the closest of your family and friends.  Just let your heart break.  Embrace the loss.  Let your tears flow until there are no more left to flow.  Find a moment to just let your mind rest.  I know you know that way down deep, deep inside your spirit Christ is there.  He has not left you or forsaken you.  He abides with you.  His peace is made available to you.  When you are ready to begin, He wants to begin healing your broken heart.

May the peace of God be with you today.
