Matthew 6:33 (cont.) But seek ye first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

I wanted to know what this meant.  I knew I was on to something.  But what?  I asked everyone I knew about this verse.  No one knew anything about it or had even thought about it.  90% had never noticed it.  That was ok with me.  I knew, that I knew, that I knew, that the Holy Spirit had given it to me.  The scales began to slowly and gently fall off my eyes.  I was already pursuing God with all I had.

One morning I woke up and first realized that “seeking the Kingdom of God, and His righteousness” must be a system that He designed for us to work through.  I didn’t know what His system was, but I knew it existed.  There would be rules in place and guidelines to follow.  I likened it to a baseball game, for those of you who know baseball.  But it is like any sport, court house, or business.

There are rules to follow to be successful.

In baseball, just imagine.  It’s the bottom of the 9th . . . 2 outs.  The bases are loaded.  You’re down by two runs.  A rookie comes up.  He’s a good hitter, but no one told him the rules.  He hits a line drive safely into deep left center field.  It bounces off the wall.  He assumes that since the other hitters were right handed they ran straight to the base in front of them . . . “first base”.  So, being a left-handed hitter, he should run to the base straight in front of him . . . “third base”.  He’s running hard.  He rounds third going to second.  Everyone is trying to stop him.  He’s passing his own team mates as he runs with his head down determined to stop and be safe, at second.  He doesn’t even see them yelling and trying to stop him.

He gets to second before the ball gets there and he slides.  He’s safe.  He jumps up smiling thinking he’s done some great thing.  But instead, he’s out.  The game is over, but not only did he lose but all his team mates lost too.  He was a talented player and he had the right attitude.  He played hard and was gifted.  But none of those things can win the game if you don’t know the rules.

Good News

The good news is . . . you know God’s rules, and the ones you don’t you can add to your blueprint . . . “then these things will be added unto you”, and you will win.

Say to someone today . . . “I know how to win over life’s tragedies and struggles . . . would you like me to show you how?  Then show them how to change their blueprint.

You can do it . . . down deep I know you can and more importantly . . . you know you can!
