Mark 9:4 And there appeared unto them Elias (Elijah) with Moses; and they were talking with Jesus.

I want to continue the devotion from yesterday.

Jesus had gone into the mountain.  He was travailing in very intense prayer.  Peter, James and John and some of His leadership were with Him.  He was transfigured before them.  His clothes and body became exceeding white as snow. Simon, in Mark 9:5 noticed this; Moses and Elijah appeared talking with Jesus.  Wow!  You’re probably like me.  I would have liked to have heard that conversation!  I doubt they were sharing sports trivia or cooking tips.

But notice, one of the ones who was there . . . Elijah.  He was no spiritual light weight.  He was truly a man of God.  So much so, in fact, Elijah did not see physical death.  He was taken up into heaven by a whirlwind.  That’s why many Bible scholars believe Elijah will be one of the two witnesses in the Great Tribulation that is to come.  But my emphasis today is that Elijah, a great man of God, fell prey to the “I feel sorry for myself syndrome”.

Since it happened to him it certainly can happen to us.  If it has already happened to you just ask God to release it from you.  Cast those thoughts away from you.  If those thoughts haven’t come to you yet, great.  If they do just reject them and let them have no part of your thought process.

To be mentally tough is a God thing.

That’s why I know you’ve got great successes and accomplishments just ahead of you.
