Philippians 3:14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

Determination is a key factor in any successful endeavor.  Apostle Paul is telling the Philippians he is putting forth his maximum effort to accomplish his goal of achieving what God has mandated him to do.  For anyone to put out this much intensive effort to accomplish anything they must first decide where they want to go and what is the most likely path that will lead them there.

From my experience in life every tragic event leads to a greater victory.  Often, you cannot see the victory until some months or even years down the road.   But it always comes.  I’ve also learned that victory comes quicker when you can see through the dark cloud of heartache and see where it is God is directing.

Look for His purpose in you today.  Take an inventory of your talents, abilities, hearts desire and re-commit them to God and wait for where the doors open.  Decide what the purpose for the rest of your life is.  Let your mind be at peace, and once you discover your purpose, determine to press toward it, put in your maximum effort to achieve it.

And guess what . . . you will! . . . and even sooner than you think.
