II Corinthians 10:5 – Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.
As we move forward now, from the debilitating loss of our loved one let us determine to first get reacquainted with our purpose and how we now plan to go forth and accomplish it. I know these are weighty matters and it requires some strategic thinking and a mind that is clear. But we need to take a few small steps to help us move forward.
If the loved one that passed over to the other side was not part of your daily routine because you have your own family, then you probably won’t need to take this next step. But let me speak to those whose whole life has been turned upside down. It will still take some time to forge the direction for your life as you know it now.
The first step is to get back to your daily routine.
- Make a list of what you need to get done and how soon it needs to be done.
- Add a time for Bible reading, prayer, praise and meditation to your daily routine.
- Schedule a time to think about what has happened but as much as possible keep it to that. Bring every thought into captivity. Focus on the future.
- Remember you are not alone. Rely on family and friends for support and encouragement.
- And know God will show you the way. Look for His direction. He will show you. Proverbs 3:6 “In all they ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct thy paths.”
