Luke 21:19 In your patience possess ye your souls.

Probably one of the last things you feel you need to hear about now is patience. However, it is important.

Things may be coming at you fast now.  Changes are happening on many fronts.  Decisions you don’t want to make are having to be made every hour.  Have someone who is wise and close to you help you sort out what decisions really must be made now and what can be made later.  If possible, give yourself some time to deal with the emotional pains of the moment before making critical decisions that affect your future.  There will be time to make these decisions once your heart gets settled and you can think clearly.  Let some days, weeks or even some months pass by before you make the major decisions that will affect the rest of your life.

I love this passage of scripture because it gives us so much wisdom.  In any crisis, of any type, this cardinal approach to painful events will serve you well.

I encourage you to be patient in your loss.  Let the Holy Spirit go before you, moving time, people, places and events to your betterment.  Give Him time because when He’s through you will be able to see clearly what to do with very little stress.

He has a lighted path cleared for you to walk and I know you’ll find it.
