Psalms 46:10-11 – Be still and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the people, I will be exalted in the earth.  The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge.

Every time we experience any type of true shock in our lives our human response is nearly all the same . . . disbelief.  “How can this be?” “This can’t be real.” “Why is this happening?”  Coming to the place where you can accept the current events as reality will help you to more quickly overcome the emotional pain of the moment.

Just take a moment.

When your heart is hurting, and your mind is racing it can be difficult to focus on the things that are important now.  But when you can . . . find a moment to be alone with your thoughts and God.  Just be still and know that He is the same God that was there before this happened.   Just remember all the wonderful things God has done for you and your family.

While it is so painful for us to remain here know that the angels are rejoicing, and God has accomplished a wonderful thing in the life of your loved one.  They have made it safely and successfully to God’s eternal Kingdom.

This thought alone should give you great peace and happiness today.
